The Free plan

Free for teachers, with no student names on file.

Students join by link and get a nickname. Every question is multiple choice. No name field, no accounts, no free text, so we hold nothing that says who a student is. Any grade, no school agreement.

How students join

No sign-up screen, no name box.

Open the link, get a nickname

A student opens your link or types the code and gets a two-word nickname, like Amber Comet. That is who they are in your class. No name field, no account.

Come back to the same one

The same device resumes automatically. On a new device they pick their nickname from the class list. A claimed nickname stays claimed until you reset it, so nobody can take another student's place.

You know who Amber Comet is. We do not.

Keep the who-is-who list where you keep a class list. There is nowhere in the app to enter it, and support cannot look it up either.

What Free includes

School features are greyed out on Free, not hidden. They all work in the demo.

What you get on Free
  • The assignment builder, with PDF and photo import
  • AI-drafted answer keys and auto-grading
  • Multiple-choice assessments, practice and problem sets
  • Gradebook and review screen, by nickname
  • Grade export
  • Open mode and desktop lockdown
  • Extra time on locked exams
  • Unlimited classes, no expiry
What School adds
  • Student names, rosters and accounts
  • Written and essay answers, hand-graded with feedback
  • AI tutor for math, reading and writing
  • Monitored tests in the browser
  • Google Classroom and Canvas
  • Weighted gradebook, item analysis and admin view

Each of these holds a name or a sentence a student wrote, which is why they need a school agreement. Compare the two plans

What we hold on Free

The complete list.

The nickname

Two words our server picked. That is a student's whole identity with us.

Chosen answers

Stored as the position of the choice, not as text.

Scores and timestamps

When work was started and submitted, and what it scored.

Lockdown telemetry

Whether a locked exam stayed locked, and when it did not. No screen content, no recording.

A return token

So the same device comes back to the same nickname. It identifies a device, not a child.
